The Community Welcome Reception for the Leadership Long Beach will be held on Monday, August 27 at Rancho Los Cerritos from 5:30 - 8 PM. This is the first large community event for Leadership Long Beach as it commemorates its 30th Anniversary of its principled leadership programs and the 1800+ alumni who are serving the community to make Long Beach better. The highlight of the event will be the introduction of the Institute Class of 2019, the 30th Institute program class for Leadership Long Beach.

Community and business leaders, Leadership Long Beach alumni and guests will have the opportunity to hear about the upcoming plans and activities for the organization as it continues to inform, activate and connect community leaders to more meaningfully serve Long Beach. In addition, this event will kickoff will introduce the 30th adult class of the program as the group begin their 10-month experience gaining a wider perspective on Long Beach, its people and the community.
This year’s reception is sponsored by The Boeing Company, one of the original supporters of Leadership Long Beach. The Community Welcome Reception initiates the 30th program year for Leadership Long Beach, which began in 1989 as an idea to build a resource of leaders to address the issues and opportunities that the Long Beach community would face in the coming years. The McDonnell Douglas Company, before being merged into The Boeing Company, along with several other key Long Beach businesses, helped finance the inaugural class and the nonprofit organization during its first year of existence.
